Endorsement
Gordon Martines for Clark County Sheriff.
.... Details
Dave Freeman: I’m supporting an old friend: Gordon
Martines (In my capacity as a private citizen) in his
pursuit of becoming our next sheriff. I worked with him
for many years at Metro and we accomplished several goals,
motivated by our mutual concern for public safety and
officer safety.
Gordon has 36 years of experience as a Peace Officer
(Notice I didn’t use the words – Law Enforcement
Officer) and he is currently assigned as a senior detective
in robbery/homicide bureau.
He’s a hard-headed political novice that is running
his campaign out of his own pocket, as he doesn’t
want to be obligated to any special interest by accepting
cash donations like his competitors. His integrity IMHO
is above reproach. I’d greatly admire him for stepping
up and going against Good Ole’ Boy political machine,
because he has suffered serious repercussions the last
time he filed and they’re starting up again. Fortunately
he’s fearless!
Like many of us throughout the years, he’s most
at home working in the trenches. I think this community
would greatly benefit from his well known character and
principles, plus he would establish an “Open Door”
policy for the troops and the public as well (he firmly
believes in providing an opportunity for a “Redress
of Grievances.”
Unbeknownst to many people, there’s a unique set
of circumstances in this particular sheriff’s race
that creates a real possibility of him getting elected with
grass roots support (otherwise, I wouldn’t invest
some much of my precious time; as you know, I have several
balls in the air at any one time).
I could sure use some help from you and your friends in
getting the word out.

Outsiders protesting the law of the United States
The words RACE, RACIAL PROFILING, RACIST and RACISM if continued to be used in any forum,
any issue, on/in any subject by anyone for any reason, is about the most destructive
utterances anyone can say these days and tends to keep us all separated and hate filled.

Police Officer indicted
To say that the usual cop haters are having a field day with this case, would be a understatement. The only saving grace is that the jury will be questioned thoroughly before being seated for this trial.

Woman faces DUI charge in fatal crash
I too am a victim of a DUI. In 1986 while I was a Motorcycle Policeman a drunk driver hit me head-on and left me for dead. Needless to say it took years to recover, I was fortunate I had a lot of support.

Gibbons questioned in Mazzeo deposition
Glad to see that the public hasn't forgotten about the Gov's
little incident, which by the way is no little incident,
it is a big incident that involves lots of people, lies,
favors, corruption and money. Folks, now it the time, remember
them at the polls, get out there and get involved. Read

LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Thank Reid for death of Yucca
Maybe we could convert Yucca Mountain into a correctional facility, it would be such

Judging the Judges
If you want a somewhat unbiased opinion of a certain judge up for re-election
ask the people that work for the district attorney's office and the prosecuting
attorney's, if the judge is any good. They will tell you the truth if they trust
you. The have nothing to gain or lose.

Gibbons releases hit list, seeks to cut education by 10 percent
I sure hope somebody is looking into cutting the tax payer funded educational costs

Notable Nevadans who died in 2009
It has just got be frustrating to know, Pete, that if you
died right now that you may not have your body escorted
down the strip like these officers did after serving and
protecting their community. I guess you could say they earned
that little perk, to honor their dedication and service
to their community, and possibly bring closure and relieve

Funeral for a fallen Officer
Let's start with the simple plan. The goal is to make Las
Vegas, Nevada the safest city in the world for tourists
and locals alike. Sooooo.....how do we accomplish this.
Zero tolerance for crimes committed in Las Vegas.
Commit a crime in Las Vegas, you go to jail. The bad guys
would take notice very quickly and have a clean pair of
underwear to take to jail or leave and go somewhere else.
That is really the easy part, the hard part is cooperation
from the court system. Read
